2. Brief detail concerning the organization

The Camillian Social Center Rayong is a charitable institution established in 1995 as a part of The St. Camillus foundation of Thailand, The Camillian Social Center Rayong opened to serve the local needs of people infected and affected by the HIV virus giving preference to the poorest and the socially excluded or marginalized. Education regarding prevention and quality of life is a part of the integrated approach of the center. Children and women get special attention and care.

3. Project background

Camillian Social Center Rayong is one of the charitable organization in Thailand where we provide safe and suitable accommodation for the orphaned children living with and affected with HIV/AIDS. There is no organization run by the Thai Government that can accommodate Orphaned children living with and affected with HIV/AIDS. When government social workers find children living with and affected with HIV/AIDS they refer them to our center.

Since 1999, The Camillian Social Center Rayong started The Child Care project to shelter orphaned children living with HIV/AIDS. Year by year, the numbers of the orphaned children living with HIV was increasing it also included the numbers of the orphaned children affected by AIDS who were suffering discrimination and were stigmatized by their relatives.

In 2006 another building some 7 kilometers from the main Child Care Center in Map Ta Phut. This became known as the Independent Living Center. It house teenagers living with HIV. Once there the children themselves run the establishment under supervision of adults. This provides the necessary living skills that they will need for integration into Thai Society once their education has come to an end. This was opened on the 7th of August 2006.

All two of these sites provide the care needed for these unfortunate children. This includes health care, education, clean comfortable place to live, also many extra curricular activities that are provided by many caring benefactors.

4. Reasons for budget support:

In the Eastern provinces of Thailand, there are very few homes for orphaned children affected by HIV/AIDS. In Rayong province, Camillian Social Center Rayong is the only institution operating as a shelter for orphans affected by HIV/AIDS. As a result, government and private organizations have referred orphaned children affected by HIV/AIDS to the center. Additionally, AIDS patients with severe complications, who are unable to care for themselves and are at risk of death without proper care, are also referred.

The center aims to provide a safe place to live, nutritious food, a supportive community, ethical and moral education, and basic formal education-ensuring that children grow into responsible and productive members of society. For AIDS patients, the center helps them regain independence and live with dignity or provides palliative care in cases where their condition is terminal.

As the new school term approaches, our children need new school uniforms and other learning supplies. Their current uniforms are old, worn out, torn, or too small. As children grow every day, their uniforms become tight and uncomfortable-making it impossible for them to wear them in the next school year. This necessitates purchasing new uniforms annually, which incurs a significant financial burden for the center.

At the very least, new uniforms help our children blend in and feel like other children with families, ensuring they do not worry about having appropriate clothing for school. Having new uniforms also allows them to start the school year with confidence-reducing stigma from peers or outsiders who may recognize them as coming from an orphanage.

The center does not discard old uniforms; instead, they are reused by younger children if still wearable. This effort is part of improving the quality of life for the children at the center.

Project Purpose The center hopes to play a role in shaping a better future for children and youth, ensuring they receive proper care and education. One essential factor in achieving this is financial support for children's educational needs, as education is a powerful tool that enables them to build self-reliant lives and reintegrate into society with dignity.

Thus, we are launching the "New Student Uniform Project for Children – Continue Year ", aimed at raising funds to provide new school uniforms for children under our care.

Therefore, the center seeks your cooperation in supporting this expense. All proceeds will be used to cover the costs of purchasing school uniforms for the orphaned children and youth under the center’s care, as well as to support efforts to improve their quality of life.

Currently, Camillian Social Center Rayong cares for 44 children, with 42 of them attending school at different grade levels in various schools. Some children are unable to attend school due to health and psychological conditions. Categorized into the following levels:
